Madinah
Madinah, historically known as Yathrib, was the place where the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), established the first Muslim community, following the Hijrah.
Known as The Prophet’s Mosque, it was built by him and contains his tomb and that of the first and second Caliphs, Abu Bakr (RA) and Omar Ibn al-Khattab (RA).
This mosque was the first to be built in the history of Islam by the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) after his migration from Makkah to Madinah and is where he would offer prayers on a Saturday.
Mount Arafat, also known in Arabic as Jabal ar-Rahmah or ‘the Mountain of Mercy’ is the place where the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) gave his last sermon. It is located approximately 20 km southeast of Makkah.
Mount Uhud surrounds the plain of Madinah, and is the site of the Battle of Uhud. The cemetery at its foot includes tombs of many of the companions of the Prophet (SAW).
Six mosques were built on
the battlefield where the Battle of the Trench took place, which became known as the ”seven mosques” including Masjid al-Qiblatain.
